Chargers Coaching Rumors: San Diego Looking At Mike Holmgren?

A report from SI.com says the San Diego Chargers might be looking at Mike Holmgren to take over for Norv Turner

The last time the San Diego Chargers hired an aging - but successful - head coach it worked out pretty good. Marty Schottenheimer won a ton of games for the Chargers but couldn't get the talented group over the hump. The result was Marty was fired after a 14-2 season.

The Chargers may go back to the future again with reports surfacing that the Powder Blues may be looking at former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren to take over for the fired Norv Turner.

Holmgren took both teams to Super Bowls, winning one with the Packers, but lost some luster during his most recent stop, as President of the Cleveland Browns. Holmgren was kicked to the curb when Jimmy Haslem took over ownership of the team from Randy Lerner in October.

The Chargers are also interested in talking to Indianapolis Colts OC Bruce Arians who was released from a Baltimore hospital on Tuesday morning. Arians will likely see plenty of action with the Browns and others likely to want to talk to him as well.

With Andy Reid already in Kansas City, Denver area restaurants would have to stock their shelves if the hefty Holmgren joined the AFC West as well.
