Too soon?

We're only 4 games into the 2013 season and I'm already doing a mock draft!?!? Yes, it's never to early to pick a few college standouts the Broncos won't even consider drafting. Every year I sit home watching the draft hoping and praying we take the guy I want (Alec Ogletree this year) because, as a fan, I simply know more than John Elway and John Fox. It is with this innocent and naive attitude I am once again going to throw a few ill conceived darts:

Round 1 Pick #32: Our beloved Denver Broncos select Christian Jones, ILB, Florida State

I like Wesley Woodyard but Paris Lenon scares the hell out of me. Christian Jones is one of those middle linebacker prospects that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, he's great in both run defense AND pass coverage.

Round 2 Pick #64: Our beloved Denver Broncos select Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas

Slippy, Slappy, Swanson? Samsonite. Travis Swanson is so good he may not even be on the board when we're up but who knows what the hell the Johns are going to do anyway so screw it. Solidifies our O-line which became razor thin this year due to injuries.

Round 3 Pick #96: Our beloved Denver Broncos select James Gayle, DE, Virginia Tech

I know, I know - Robert Ayers is competent but you're never going to convince me he's at the same level as Doom. I still have high hopes for Malik Jackson but it never hurts to add another pass rusher (especially with the NFL handing out suspensions like breath mints).

There you have it fellas, feel free to shower me with well deserved praise or berate me mercilessly for my blatant idiocy. Either way, my ego or my masochistic side will be happy.
