By now every Bronco fan has heard Irsay's shot over the Broncos bow. Coach Fox returned fire and the media went wild. As a constant media critic, even I have a hard time finding fault with the media for doing just that. This one landed in their laps off of Irsay's ill-fated tongue and Fox's fiery reply. The next move of the mic was obvious: what say you, Peyton?
"I've learned in life you need to be at peace with other people's decisions that affect you but you have no control over,'' Manning said. "I think that's been good advice I've had over the years, and it's certainly served me well in this particular scenario.''
Daaaaaayum. That's purty eastern talk from a southern boy. And deep, too. Peyton's got layers - like an onion! In the current, and perhaps constant, state of hyper-sensitivity that fans live in (see: the recent Chiefs fans on MHR fight, the disagreement about whether the Jags were beaten badly enough and anything within nuclear distance of Rodney), Peyton's wisdom rings true.
Bottom line: we're blessed to have Peyton Manning at the helm. He's more than just the best QB in the league -- he may well be the best man.
