Broncos source: Manning: "Absolutely will play Sunday against Chiefs." MRI showed aggravation of his right high ankle sprain. No new damage— Mike Klis (@MikeKlis) November 11, 2013
Manning underwent the MRI following the Broncos' 28-20 victory over the San Diego Chargers, in which Manning was the victim of two particularly hard hits. The first, courtesy of Larry English, saw Manning get twisted down by his ankle for an early sack. The second, by Corey Liuget, came in the game's final minutes. Liuget wrapped up Manning low and brought the quarterback down by his ankles and knees just after Manning completed a game-sealing pass to Demaryius Thomas.
Manning admitted he was "pretty sore" following the game, but he was able to finish the divisional bout and was seen walking around the field and locker room afterward.
We'll be sure to keep a close eye on the injury report throughout the week, but Monday's injury news means Manning will "absolutely" start against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football November 17th.
