Dear KC fans:

During the first 9 weeks of the season, you fattened up on the weak teams of the league. You won a lot of games by dominating on the defensive side of the ball. But you ignored some obvious flaws during your remarkable run and used a 9-0 start to claim that you were legit contenders, even for a title. (Those of you I am speaking about, you know who you are.)

Many of you came to MHR to proclaim your team's greatness on your most hated rival's blog. And you were somehow shocked and offended that we didn't give you the respect you thought you deserved. Well, we told you over and over that your start was a mirage. We told you that as soon as you played some genuinely good teams who were playing with their starting QBs, not their 2nd or 3rd stringers, you would be exposed. You have now played three games in a row against legit QBs. What has happened in those three games? You have allowed an average of well over 30 ppg while going on a three game losing streak, all of those losses taking place within the division, no less. It would seem that the doubters were right.

Now I will grant you that none of the losses were blowouts, but consider the situations. In the first, you lost in Denver in a game that wasn't as close as the score indicated. In the second, you lost to a San Diego team that has a losing record. In the third, you lost to the Broncos for the second time in three weeks, this time in your vaunted home-field advantage. I am comfortable right now in saying that the doubters were correct. The Chiefs are overrated and will have to depend on a ridiculous amount of luck to have a chance to win a single game in the playoffs. God, it feels good to say that and finally be able to point to evidence to prove it's validity.

I do not really believe that this will happen, but I will go on the record here and say that I would not be particularly surprised if the wheels came off of the Chiefs entirely and they lose out the season and miss the playoffs entirely. Like I said, I do not think it is likely, but I do view it as possible.

To close, my KC friends, I hope you enjoy watching the Broncos represent the AFC in the Super Bowl while your team sits on their couches at home, right along side you. GO BRONCOS!!!
