From the bad news to sad news department: For most fans in Denver Thursday, the outcome of a football game left them disappointed and frustrated. Ohers faced something much more dire.

Denver police reported via Twitter that a quadruple stabbing took place outside Sports Authority Field at Mile High shortly after the Broncos' 27-20 loss to the Chargers Thursday night. The incident occurred outside a stadium parking lot, leaving one victim in critical condition. The other three victims were reportedly in stable condition.

A number of fights were reported after the game as well.

"It was obviously a very chaotic scene and investigators have their work cut out for them," Denver Police spokesperson Steve Warneke told the Denver Post.

Denver police originally called the incident gang-related, but as of late Thursday night stated they do not believe gangs were involved, according to Daryl Orr of KDVR. The Denver Police department reported that there was "no word yet" on what precipitated the incident.

Denver police reported that suspects were in custody and that they were not searching for any further suspects.

Two weeks ago, violence erupted outside Arrowhead Stadium after the Broncos vs. Chargers game. That incident was initially thought to have stemmed from a robbery-gone-wrong, but subsequent reports from the Kansas City Star indicate that there were no signs of a break-in. One man died following an altercation outside the stadium.
