Denver Broncos Work Out Seven Players

USA TODAY Sports

'Tis the season of workouts.

Earlier this month, the Denver Broncos worked out nine rookies. More recently, the team worked out seven more players.

The Broncos can begin signing players to future contracts once the regular season concludes and many of those players will then be invited to training camp in 2014. Though they are the longest of long shots to end up on next year's 53-man roster, the players that do sign with Denver will get opportunities to make the team.

Three of the players—wide receiver Jordan Norwood, linebacker L.J. Fort, and safety Eric Hagg are former Cleveland Browns. Norwood was active for one game with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 before joining the Browns for three seasons, catching 36 passes for 405 yards and a score from 2011-2012.

Fort joined the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and played in all sixteen games as a rookie (starting one) and recording 20 tackles, a sack, three defended passes and an interception. Hagg was drafted in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft and started in four games for the Browns last season.

The three former Browns are the only players among those that worked out for Denver that have NFL experience. Rookie Army quarterback Trent Steelman signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in April and worked as a slot receiver and safety but was later released by Baltimore.

Cornerback Adrian Bushell joined the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted rookie in April but was released before training camp. Offensive tackle Mike Farrell was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers but was also released before camp.

The final two players—linebacker Henoc Muamba and receiver Dontrelle Inman—play in the Canadian Football League. Muamba was the first selection of the 2011 CFL Draft and Inman signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011 before being released and landing in the CFL.

These players are all worth keeping an eye on.
