An early game? For the Denver Broncos? That hasn't happened in 14 previous games this season. But in Week 16, the Denver Broncos will play an early Sunday game for the first time in 2013, an AFC showdown with the Houston Texans on the road.
The Texans sit at the bottom of the NFL with a 2-12 record and have lost 12 straight games. It's a surprising state for Houston, who made the playoffs in each of the last two season and was expected to compete for the playoffs again in 2013. The lackluster year has cost two men their jobs: head coach Gary Kubiak was fired, and quarterback Matt Schaub lost his starting role.
The latter will be starting against the Broncos though, as his replacement, Case Keenum, has been ruled out with a thumb injury on his throwing hand. Matt Schaub and the Texans were one of four teams to beat the Broncos last year; Denver knows not to take this team lightly, despite its record.
