After putting up a post earlier in the week that Beadles had played a good game against KC, I got the usual Poe had his way with Beadles, Beadles is a dime a dozen lineman and Beadles shouldn't be resigned responses which are baseless opinions from people who can't read the stats and depend on PFF's flawed analysis to say anything that sounds credible.
So let's put some perspective on the entire O Line.
Denver's sack rate is 3.6% this year. As opposed to 4.2% last year.
Everyone says the low sack rate is the result of Manning's quick release. That's partially true. QB's with a slow release get sacked more often. On the other hand Manning is hardly a mobile QB so he doesn't avoid sacks either.
So what about the run game?
While rushing to the left, 8 times the Broncos have had negative yards, 17 times they've run for more than 10 yards, and 86% of the rushes to the left on 3rd or 4th down with 2 yards for a 1st or a score have been successful. While rushing to the right, 9 times it has resulted in negative yards, 11 times the run has gone for more than 10 yards and 67% of the runs on 3rd or 4th down have resulted in a score or 1st down.
So far the Broncos have been stuffed 25 times out of 371 rushes for a loss of -54 yards. That's 6th best in the NFL.
None of the rushing stats have anything to do with a quick release. So which side of the line should the Broncos rush through? Which side does Beadles play on? I thought Vasquez and Franklin had been touted as road graders! It looks like the road isn't so well graded to the right.
Manning has been hit 39 times this season and sacked 15 times. Manning has been hit the fewest times of any NFL Q
Beadles has been given credit for 1 of those 15 sacks and has had 2 false start penalties for minus 10 combined yards.
So where are those 15 sacks coming from? Manny Ramirez has been credited with 1 sack and 3 holding penalties for 45 yards. Chris Clark has allowed 6 sacks for 42 lost yards with 3 holding penalties. Orlando Franklin has allowed 2.5 sacks for a loss of 20 yards with 4 holding penalties totaling 45 yards. So far Vasquez is clean on sacks but has had 1 holding penalty.
Denver is at the top of most NFL offensive categories including running the ball. Manning doesn't run the ball or create the holes for the runners to break into the open field. In addition, the Broncos rank 9th in 2nd level runs but 23rd in open field running.
Compare Beadles OLine stats to other guards in the NFL and he's hardly a dime a dozen guard. And Beadles won't easily be replaced in the draft. I think Manning would rather not play behind a rookie. Some of those audibles just might be misunderstood and result in a few lumps on Manning's rear.
