Was It a Selfish Act?

Man, one of our players is getting burned at the stake by a lot of our members here at MHR. Probably more outside of it too, but I don't bother with other forums. This community is more level headed and less like the Denver Post cry babies.(glad I never signed up) Something's been bothering me lately. More and more, I see posts stating DRC was such a selfish bastard and he's the main reason we lost to the Patriots. If he wouldn't have gotten himself injured on a pointless attempt at a stat padding play, we easily continue with the blowout. That's because he can cover the entire field, sideline to sideline. Man he's so selfish, that jerk.

I vehemently disagree with this accusation. If he catches that ball, he only has 300 lb linemen and Tom Brady in front of him. That's an extra 7 points in a game we lost by 3. Unfortunately, he misplayed the trajectory of the ball(due to high wind gusts) and ended up having to dive for it at the last second. Ultimately injuring his shoulder. DRC is one of the fastest players on the field and he is a pick-6 type of player. I didn't see selfish on that play at all. Honestly, can you point out a single selfish player on this team? Moreno goes inactive for 8 weeks and not a peep. Hillman, not a peep. First round pick Ayers, not a peep. There aren't any Jay Cutlers, Brandon Lloyds and Brandon Marshalls on this team. Someone please point out one of those characters in this locker room today. DRC was trying to make a play for his team and for you, the fans. Yet, we burn him for getting injured and costing us the win.

Look at Auburn. They win the game because of a play very similar to the one DRC got hurt on. Now if that player got tackled early, he'd be selfish for wasting precious seconds necessary for a hail mary. Instead, he's a hero and Auburn pulls off the upset. Everyone says it was a great play. So thin is the line between great and selfish........
