As mentioned above, Bannan has spent just two of his eleven years with the Broncos. He signed a five-year contract with Denver on March 5, 2010. After playing a career-high starts in 2010, Bannan was released by the Broncos on March 3, 2011. He spent the 2011 season playing for the St. Louis Rams before returning to Denver as a free agent on April 12, 2012. In 2012, he posted the 2nd highest tackle total of his career (42) and was part of a Broncos defense that held opposing teams to an average of 91.1 rushing yards per game (ranked 3rd in the NFL. During his two seasons in Denver, he accumulated the following statistics:
