Does A Decade Of Drafts Tell Us Much?

With 81 picks in the past 10 years, the Broncos have certainly had their fair share of chances. So how do you think we did? Do we still have anyone on the team from the years Shanahan was making those decisions? What about "that other guy" who replaced him? Here's the positional breakdown over the past ten years.

RB..8

FB..1

TE..4 (2 in last two years 50%),

WR 9

T.....4 (1 in last two years 25%),

So, now Shanny gets fired and gives up the chance to pick 5 times in the first two rounds!!! Do you think he would have picked much different than that other guy?

The "other guy", as HC made 19 picks, (23% of the 81) & 12 of the 19 (63%!!!) were offense. How lucky is it to have 8 picks in the first two rounds the only two years you are a Head Coach? I sure wish Pat had jumped strait from Shanny to John, but then we may not have gotten Von Miller!

5 of Shanahan's players were still on the team in 2012, and 6 of that other guys. The rest were from the last two years worth of drafts, and from trades and FA acquisitions. A fairly thorough revamping I guess. First, that other guy decided to front off a couple of Shanny's 06 picks, and if he'd have dumped Kuper and Doom he'd have made a clean sweep of that year.

I'm not sure what all we can gather from this. I'm hoping that some of you can make some heads or tails of it all. I did notice that Mike had no clue when it came to drafting QB's. (That Cutler kid had talent, but kept tripping over his pouty lip all the time!) I just know that the Defense had been neglected a bit, and the fact that we have neglected the DT position is quite obvious when you see how many we've drafted.

Other than that, what do you see?
