The cat is out of the bag!

"Know this: The Broncos will draft a cornerback, running back and defensive lineman in the first three rounds. Maybe in that order." - Mike Klis, Denver Post on March 24th

That makes it a little easier to create an accurate mock draft. Onto our first three picks:

Round 1 Pick #28: The Denver Broncos select Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington

If our beloved Broncos are targeting a first round cornerback I really hope it's Desmond Trufant. "He has size, length, speed and can recover. Trufant also was very gritty and physical with receivers." The Broncos did meet with Trufant at the Combine.

Round 2 Pick #58: The Denver Broncos select Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina

I loathe the idea of spending a premium pick on a running back but if that's the direction we're headed I want to get the best guy. Giovani Bernard was considered the best running back in this year's class until everybody fell in love with Eddie Lacey. "Bernard is extremely quick to break runs for big gains. Furthermore, he is hard to tackle in the open field as he has shiftiness to dodge tacklers."

Round 3 Pick #90: The Denver Broncos select John Simon, DE, Ohio State

At 6'1" 257lbs John Simon is a little undersized and he's going to have some big shoes to fill. "Arguably the most relentless and motivated player in college football, Simon has been a force for the Ohio State defensive line since stepping foot on campus four years ago and lives in the weight and film rooms." The Broncos did meet with Simon at the Senior Bowl.

There it is, not exactly I the way I would draft if I were in charge but if those positions are our priorities I like these guys. Tell me what you think.
