I Hate Dirty Birds!

Updated list added from

I really hate it when a flock of dirty birds fly over! They tend to drop their crap all over everything. They have little respect for the fact that you just washed that car, or that your baby girl was having fun riding Her tricycle until the splat hit her on top of the head!

That's Right, no respect at all, but since I know there will be a flock of them trying to fly in Denver on Thursday, I figured I'd take a look at which ones will arrive and get your opinions on what to shoot at first.

I think we'll have plenty of Bird Shot (plays) to go around, & our Shotgun (team) will be well oiled and ready to go. Below is the list of targets we get to shoot at. Happy Hunting!

The first thing that caught my eye is that Doom is listed as a co-starter, which seems to me to suggest that he will only be used as a situational player. (3rd down guy?) I think he may simply be moved around a lot on third downs, and isn't really a pure sam LB.

Courtney Upshaw played in all 16 games last year, as a rookie, (starting in 9) and is now in his second year with the flock. He totaled 34 tackles, 21 assists & just 1.5 sacks. I can see why they'd want to replace him on passing downs.

The 2011 second round pick (58th overall) Torrey Smith has caught 99 passes for 1,696 yards his first two years in the league, and

After 5 years of not doing much in Houston, Jacoby Jones signed with the Ravens on 5/8/12. He played in all 16 games last year, but only started 3, and I'm guessing that His play in the playoffs last year was what won him his starting role this year.

He's only caught 157 balls (26/year Avg) for 2,147 yards (357 yds/yr Avg) over the span of his career, so I think that this will be his break out year.

I'd kind of like the Broncos to give Champ an extra week to let his anckle heal up, just so we can see how well Harris & DRC "can shoot" these birds down! What do you think?

Who will play the nickle slot that Harris played? Will he slide back inside? If so, will Jammer play the other corner spot? I'm not sure I like that match up. I'm just not totally sold on Jammer yet.

LCB Lardarius Webb, RCB Corey Graham, SS James Ihedigbo, & FS Michael Huff are going to have nightmares all night Wednesday night, if they sleep at all! How the heck are they going to handle our guys?

Webb (only played in 6 games last year) is coming off of an injury that kept him out most of the year, but recorded 67 tackles the previous year. 2011 Pro Bowler Corey Graham played his first 5 years in Chicago and picked up the slack for Webb last year recording 60 tackles with 8 PDEF & 2 INT's.

Their backups Jimmy Smith (5 starts in first two years) & Chykie Brown (1 start in first two years) are pretty raw. Their starting SS James Ihedigbo had his best year with the New England Patriots (2011) and was waived & signed with the Ravens on 9/3/12. He only started 3 games last year.

After playing his first seven years with the Raiders, FS Michael Huff signed with the Ravens on 3/27/13. He recorded 438 tackles (361 solo 77 assists), 5.5 sacks, 55 PDEF & 11 INTs during his pro career.

I just don't see these guys even slowing Peyton and his recievers down at all. What do you all think? What will our toughest challenge be against these guys?

I don't think we will see Low Teck (Dumervil) on Clady's side much. I think Clady will get a heavy dose of Terrell Suggs. Suggs got 14 sacks in 2011, but was out for half the year last year and ended with just 4. With Suggs healthy, and Low Tech on the other side, they may have a pretty good pass rush this year.
