Horse Tracks: Could Champ Bailey's Career Go the Way of Rod Smith's?

This is purely speculation, but I remember when Rod Smith seemed to be on the verge of "coming back" for an entire season only to find out his career was finished. Could we be seeing something similar this season with Champ Bailey? I certainly hope not, but I'm beginning to become concerned. He's too good of a player to lose.
