What a glorious morning!
As if yesterday’s victory over the hapless Pats wasn’t sweet enough, my satisfaction's been potentiated by the whining over at Pats’ Pulpit.
If you haven’t taken the time to go over there and poke around, I’d recommend it. The Brady apologists are out in full force. "Not enough weapons!" they cry.
"It wasn’t Tom’s fault," they moan.
"Fire McDaniels!" they wail.
Was it Edelman’s fault that Brady overthrew him during the first quarter? Was it McDaniels’ fault that Brady overthrew wide-open receivers four times?
The fact is, our defense focused on stopping the run and challenged Tom Brady to beat us. And Brady wasn’t up to the challenge.
And I don’t think he’s been up to the task all year. Honest Patriot fans admit that Tom Brady hasn’t been the same Tom Brady that we’ve all grown to know and hate. And while delusional Pats’ fans fall back on the common refrain of Tom not having any competent receivers, outside observers know that his accuracy has diminished.
That’s why the Patriots have had to rely on referee assistance during so many of their wins this year. A #2 seed? What a farce.
That team is in deep trouble. I suspect even Bill Belichick knows it too. I can’t remember him ever fighting wars in the media like he did when he suggested Wes Welker had targeted Aqib Talib. Feeling defensive, Bill? Painted into a corner?
Excuses, excuses, excuses.
"Oh, you just don't know the specifics of Spygate. If you knew the specifics of Spygate, you'd know that we never 'technically' violated the rules."
"We have soooo many injuries."
I even read a Pats' fan say, "Damn you, Hernandez!" As if the worst thing to come out of that homicide was the Patriots' loss of a starter. Nevermind the life that was lost.
Oh, what a glorious morning! Not only are we headed to the Super Bowl (where we'll likely win), but to utterly dominate the Pats...well, cheers!
