And within this now lies a magical opportunity: immortality. Win this game and become all-time. It never gets taken away. It cannot be erased.
There are a lot of new handles here at MHR, which is great. We are a big tent community for Broncos fans. Welcome! I hope our leaders here will, perhaps, take a moment to front page some of the codes of conduct for MHR just to serve as sign posts and keep MHR fresh and on course. I have a few requests from my brethren here at MHR:
1) Rise above. The antics of one Richard Sherman are the same as those of Dennis Rodman. In a fanbase, especially, this is tantalizing. Someone yells something ridiculous, you want to yell back. I get it. But one of the reasons I came to MHR and am so proud to be a contributing member today is because this site tends to rise above the typical Internet comment sections. The conversation here is Bronco-centric, thoughtful and passionate. That doesn’t mean there isn’t meaningful and thoughtful debate within the ranks, but the pitfall is when trash talk cuts the legs out from what was so carefully constructed. Let the garbage with the Chiefs fans earlier in the season serve as a lesson. This is MHR. We’re better than that.
2) Recognize. The mainstream media (MSM) is going to pick, pull and otherwise examine this matchup with such ferocity never seen before over the next two weeks. The thought level, generally, is very low. Don’t like it? Don’t buy it! People will make careers off of making you angry. Do you really want to buy the jerk you disagree with his next car just by being angry? If you really think it’s silly, stupid and hate it, turn the other cheek.
3) Respect. The Seahawks are a very good team. They’ve gotten to the Super Bowl for good reason. I have complete confidence the Broncos can and will beat them, save for two factors I’ve mentioned before: injuries and weather. Stay healthy over the next two weeks and pray for clear, non-windy conditions. Don’t worry about the cold – PFM isn’t.
Onward, Bronco fans! We ride, United in Orange!
