This post is a quick and dirty list of our best playmakers in a few key areas to this point in the season. I'm sure there are sites that have these kinds of stats but I haven't found them, so I put this together for my own curiosity, and I thought someone here might be interested.
On the offense I looked at each players success rate on 3rd down. A go-to player should excel at moving the chains when it's most critical. I don't think much will be surprising.

A couple of things:
1. Most of DT's failed 3rd downs were catches just shy of the marker. He simply didn't run the route quite deep enough. Caldwell on the other hand didn't even catch any of his chances.
2. Caldwell and Tamme are 0/11. You could say they have been very reliably bad on 3rd down.
3. I would say that Hillman isn't much of a 3rd down back, although we really don't give our RBs a chance very often.
Now we'll look at the running backs.

Keep in mind none of these guys have over 100 attempts. That being said, I would seriously think about giving CJ more touches in the ground game this week. He's clearly been the most effective, and the numbers only back that up.
On the Defense I was looking at 3rd down stops and tackles for 0 (or less yardage).

I'm impressed by the rook. Roby is doing really well. Yes he gets beat sometimes, and abused by wily vets, but to lead the team on 3rd down is pretty impressive. Props also to Harris, Miller, Ware, and Marshall for their consistency.
I hope this was worth reading! Go Broncos.
