Hi everyone - first fan post for me. I've only commented a few times in the last few months but have been reading MHR report for some time. I'm curious what everyone's thoughts on Trindon Holliday are. I have gone from being a huge fan of his to being nervous every time I see him on the field. This last year was such a roller coaster for him. I was so relieved when he stopped returning punts but I still worry about the decisions he is making on kickoff returns.
Do you all think he just had a bad year and will get over it or should we part ways with him? Do you think they would keep him to only return kickoffs and have someone else return punts? It seems unlikely Decker will be around next year and I would think Welker might not want to risk more concussions. Do we need to get someone new for this or do we have someone in the wings? Didn't Caldwell take over for Holliday when he was injured mid-season - I can't remember how he did. I know (or at least I think) Holliday is a restricted free agent but I honestly don't really get what that means - would love to hear what all the options are for the Broncos on this topic.
I think it would be great if he could bounce back next year but if the Broncos are going to survive and thrive with their challenging schedule next year I think we need to not have anywhere near as many turnovers as we did last year. And I think mistakes on kickoff and punt returns can swing momentum faster than just about anything else.
