Report: Demaryius Thomas played with separated shoulder in Super Bowl

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Vic Lombardi is reporting that Demaryius Thomas suffered a separated shoulder in the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVIII.

According to NFL.com, Thomas was in so much pain on Monday that he needed help rolling his luggage. There is no word on how severe the injury is.

Thomas ended up setting a Super Bowl record with 13 completions. All total, he was targeted 18 times and managed to rack up 118 yards and a touchdown. Late in the game he had a long reception on a crosser but subsequently fumbled. Looking back on it now, I'm wondering if the injury had something to do with Thomas' ball handling.

Regardless, Optimus Prime has earned a ton of respect from me. This is the sort of toughness, talent, and production we need on this team. A big Mile High Salute to Demaryius for his beastly effort!

GO BRONCOS!!!
