I'm never the fan to root for my team drafting an offensive lineman in the first round. Especially a guard. However, after having an incredible free agency period, again, I like the idea of filling in a big need while taking the best player available. Gabe Jackson from Mississippi St. is the man I want for the 31st pick.
Mind you, I am being realistic here. I want Mosley, or shazier, I just don't believe they will be available. Borland is someone we can get in round 2 maybe. Gabe Jackson is a beast, we can plug him in the OL and not miss a beat. I don't believe in taking a center. Here is why, Manny Ramirez actually played very well last season (SB asside, but who actually played well then?). Us taking a center would mean they want Manny converting back to guard, where he struggled the year prior. I would rather keep him at center and take a solid rookie who can fill in the void immediately, for a cheap price.
