When Peyton retires, John Fox will retire. That's my prophetic proclamation and you can hold me to it!
This comment from Kgrone got me thinking:
Two years ago coming off 4-12, I’ll take Fox over most guys in the league. Coming off back-to-back seasons of home field advantage, and having a stacked roster? I’d trade him for Shanny in a heartbeat (though Payton would be my #1 choice).
My reply to Kgrone was:
Wait a min!
You just hit on the perfect solution. When Peyton hangs up his cleats, Fox retires and Peyton becomes the new head coach! Peyton would be the PERFECT head coach.
He’s a workaholic!
He’s an HOFer just like the Broncos GM!
He has a competitive spirit that cannot quit!
He, unlike his predecessor, actually played at the pro level, and was the best of his generation!
He knows football, from the most critical position on the field, like no other!
He has a Never Give Up mentality!
He knows how to make instant in game adjustments. (Wait till half time? What? No way!)
Besides all that, Peyton would go nuts being away from football!
What do you think? Would Peyton be the perfect next Head Coach for the Broncos?
