MILE HIGH SALUTE!
Fan tours are nothing new to the Broncos. Hall of Fame RB Floyd Little used to go on caravans with the team to drum up interest in, what was in the 1960's and early 1970's, a struggling franchise. South to New Mexico, north to Montana, as far east as the Dakotas and west into Utah, these caravans staked out the terrain we call Broncos Country. These days, the Broncos' focus is limited to Colorado. Here's a listing of the cities and dates.
BIG SPENDERS? NOT SO MUCH...
The Broncos were big spenders in free agency this year. However, their per-player payroll in 2013 wasn't enough to even take first place in the state of Colorado. The Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Rockies both spent more than the Denver Broncos. Here's how it all shakes out.
MILLER TIME!
Denver LB Von Miller is hoping to come back stronger and better than ever when he recovers from the ACL tear he suffered in week 16 against the Houston Texans. Let's hope that 2014 finds Von healthier, suspension free, and ready to kick some butt!
SWOOPE VISITS
TE Julius Thomas might not be the only former college basketball player on the Broncos roster after the draft... The Broncos worked out Miami hoopster Erik Swoope. If he does get drafted by Denver, it'll likely be in the later rounds. It's more likely, however, that if Denver wants him he'd be signed as an undrafted free-agent.
LLOYD LANDS
Former Broncos Pro Bowler Brandon Lloyd (it feels odd to say that now... How times have changed!) signed with the San Francisco 49ers, the team that drafted him in the 4th Round of the 2003 draft.
CALVIN WARNER IS NOT A PEYTON MANNING FAN
Who is Calvin Warner? He's an Oklahoma State University Senior (majoring in Spanish and Philosophy) who feels that the OSU made a mistake in asking Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning to speak at one of their events... or rather the mistake was in paying Manning $105,000 to do so. Here's his opinion piece... He's entitled to it even if he's wrong. This is Peyton 'Freakin' Manning we are talking about here folks!
A BLAND AND BLAND WITH NOTHING ON IT
Fox broadcaster Joe Buck just married former Denver Broncos Cheerleader and current NFL Network reporter Michelle Beisner in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They say there's someone out there for everyone... Great news for Joe Buck! May their lives be just a tad more exciting than the snoozers he broadcasts each week.
