Broncos’ defensive tackle Mitch Unrein signed his restricted free agent tender worth a $1.431 million salary.
Carter received the $730,000 minimum salary as a rare fourth-year player not eligible for restricted free agency while Ihenacho and Marshall will get the second-year minimum of $570,000.
It is important to note that none of these deals are guaranteed until day 1 of the regular season. Any of these players can be cut between now and then without any cap ramifications. Mitch Unrein's tender strikes me as a bit high for a 4th string rotational DT so that is something to keep an eye on going forward.
Ihenacho became the Broncos starter at SS last season and played the Super Bowl despite lackluster play down the stretch. As it stands, Tony Carter would be your CB4 behind Talib, Harris, and Webster. His spot may be relatively safe given the thin depth behind both starters. Marshall could have the clearest shot at making the roster with ultrathin depth at linebacker. As of right now, there are only two proven commodities at linebacker with Danny Trevathan and Von Miller. Everything else is very much up in the air.
GO BRONCOS!!!
