It is much too early to be mocking next years NFL Draft, but it wasn't really the mock that caught my attention. Todd McShay set the order of his 2015 NFL Mock Draft based on Football Outsiders' early projected win totals for the 2014 Regular Season. Win totals are great, but picking 32nd in the NFL Draft is even better!
The Broncos were the top team, with the New Orleans Saints right behind with 11 projected wins in 2014. From there, it gets muddy with five other teams with 10 wins, including the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.
For those who love DVOA, cough Seahawks fans, this was quite positive news to read. In a way, it also shows how much unbiased observers think about John Elway's moves so far during free agency and the NFL Draft.
Here was the final player mocked by McShay.
32. Denver Broncos (12-4): Michael Bennett*, DT, Ohio State
The 6-3, 285-pound Bennett recorded seven sacks in 2013, and should be a key part of a formidable Buckeyes defensive line this season.
Isn't it nice to get national media preseason love every year?
It brings me back to the Spring of 1998...
