Denver Broncos defensive end DeMarcus Ware sat out the second half of Sunday's practice at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday with an apparent leg injury. The star pass rusher was seen limping yesterday, and it was reported that Ware had a leg bruise. The Broncos decided to play it safe since it's still only late July and rested Ware today.
#Broncos coach John Fox on DeMarcus Ware: "just a leg bruise, he'll be fine.'' It's Ware's right lower leg.

It is good news that Ware's injury is only minor. He has been slowed down by some nagging injuries the past few years but it sounds like after a few days of rest the veteran will be back on the field.
It sounds like second-year player Quanterus Smith used the absence of DeMarcus Ware today to his advantage
Important day for Quanterus Smith, with DeMarcus Ware watching & out of pads. Smith used an inside move in 1-on-1s to beat W. Justice.

The second-year pass rusher is looking for a bounce-back year in 2014 after spending all of the 2013 season on the season-ending IR list, continuing to rehab from an ACL injury he suffered late in the 2012 season. It's good to hear Smith made the most of the opportunity that was given to him today. I'm excited to see what he can do during the rest of camp, and in the preseason.
Go Broncos!
