All Things In Wisdom and Prudence

I am apparently not as "rah-rah" and passionate as I need to be on all particular matters in some circles. I pen this piece to show that I can exhibit passion in my own ways, following basic principles of wisdom and prudence.

When the Broncos play the Seahawks Thursday, and I get to be there for it, there is a strong urge to "exact vengeance" upon Seattle for the embarrassment they've done to us and such. I realize that is a sore spot for many and I do not mock nor scorn you if this is how you feel but beware of the unhealthy fixation.

I think my own life is the perfect template for what I am attempting to convey. At the age of 32, I feel frustrated and embarrassed by many things that have spiraled out of control and not gone the way I wanted them to. Ultimately, I have found that when I remain pissed off and perturbed at things that cannot be altered, such as the past, I am perpetually unhappy.

In fact, one that is really sensitive and hurtful to me occurred only 48 hours ago or so, but when you are a 32-year-old bachelor, it is par for the course to be rejected by attractive members of the fairer gender, among other such things that have left me in a "43-8" quagmire from whence there is no deliverance.

It is only when I have expedited a paradigm shift, assessed my talents and skills and overcome what went wrong that I am able to focus on the tasks at hand.

THIS is how the Broncos are going to win the Super Bowl. Yes, Coach Fox, or Zorro as I call him, is not an in-your-face leader but everyone on the team loves him and would do anything they can to make him successful. I have never believed that yelling is the way to accomplish goals and tasks at hand.

Remember that Peyton has previously won a Super Bowl with a mild-mannered soft-spoken coach, Tony Dungy. That championship won in the rain should have dispelled forever the archaic notion that coaches have to be pricks and yellers to win.

It is wise and prudent to come out Thursday with our hair on fire while the starters are out, and I do want the scrubs to give it all they've got with passion as if they don't, they're assuredly out of a job. I just worry about the fixation with the Seahawks.

As many of you may know, I am a liaison between these two blogs, showing that YES, BRONCOS AND SEAHAWKS FANS CAN GET ALONG, crazy as it seems, and what they're doing as of Tuesday is laughing at us for the fact Seattle is in our heads. That, in my humble opinion, is unhealthy on our part, the ultimate goal is prevailing over whoever we face in the Super Bowl, be it the Seahawks or whoever.

I am grateful that Mr. Cheesy, who is a great contributor to this community that I respect, has said he cares about beating all teams and not just the Seahawks but the general vibe that I've had for weeks is that beating SEATTLE is all that matters. I apologize if I am being too curt but this is what I've seen via my observations this offseason.

This is, in a sense, saying, in my own realm, I want vengeance upon JENNIFER, MARTIE, OLIVIA, HEATHER and COURTNEY for not wanting to marry me. What good does that do me? For one thing, it repels me toward women, which is counter-productive toward my progression and I am unhappy should I ensue on that futile course. Thankfully, there is a better way.

I have repented of my anger toward Mr. Ellis, he will do a great job in Mr. Bowlen's stead and furthermore, I still trust the front office. I know that they will do, according to their knowledge and understanding, whatever they can to close the gap between us and a Super Bowl title.

The front office has adroitly assessed what went wrongly in the Super Bowl and has done their best to fortify the weak spots, such as the acquisitions of DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib. Danny Trevathan is going to be better in his role and Rahim Moore is going to silence the haters once and for all with consistently spectacular play.

I just don't want us, in the preseason, to do overdo things. The Seahawks did that last preseason and they were extremely fortuitous to remain relatively healthy. Nevertheless, the statistical probabilities suggest luck may not be so extensively on their side in the future. Playing Russian Roulette is a risky proposition under any circumstances.

I trust Fox's wisdom, I trust the prudence of Elway and Mr. Ellis, I trust that this team will not let us down: GO BRONCOS!!!
