Osweiler is coming off his first sub-par performance against the San Diego Chargers this past weekend. He totaled 166 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. He is lucky not to have another interception added to his stat line. Late in the second quarter San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle dropped a would-be interception.
It's not a big surprise to see Osweiler have these struggles after a few starts. Teams now have tape on him and they have an idea of what works and what doesn't against him. Coach Kubiak mentioned today that he has seen teams adjusting some things to make Osweiler be a little more patient.
Osweiler will look to bounce back this weekend against the Oakland Raiders.
One the season Osweiler has completed 61.5% of his passes and had a QB rating of 76.8. On the season, Osweiler has 832 yards, 5 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, a completion percentage of 61.3, and a QB rating of 85.8.
It sounds like we will see at least two more games of Osweiler before the team has to decide between the veteran Peyton Manning and Osweiler. So these next two games will be big for Oz if he wants to keep the starting job for the rest of the 2015 NFL season.
