Denver Broncos Sign Wide Receiver Jason Hill
The Denver Broncos have not waited to try and improve the roster that took them to the AFC Divisional Round in 2011.
After signing guard C.J Davis today, the Broncos added a a player to a group with many questions around it.
The Broncos added Wednesday free agent receiver Jason Hill. Hill played in Jacksonville last year after being released late in November, after new Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio was fired.
Hill is a 6'1, 190 pound receiver who was drafted by San Francisco in the third round of the 2007 entry draft. In the 2007 combine he ran the second fastest 40 time running a 4.32. His rookie season he only played in five games due to injury problems.
Hill played at Washington State University. He scored 32 touchdowns breaking the school record and is second on the Pac-10 All Time list. He had 2,704 yards and 148 catches.
Hill is a big addition for the fact that the Broncos receiving group is thin due to Eddie Royal being an unrestricted free-agent.

Scouting Report (From SB Nation
Assets: Has elite athleticism and top-end speed, the needed ingredients of a pure deep-play threat. Is also very shifty. Runs routes well and can really take off if the defender misses his tackle.
Flaws: Has a history of inconsistency and doesn't always seem to be in-sync with his quarterback. Not a physical receiver and won't make the tough catch in heavy traffic.
Career Potential -- Speedy Receiver with great upside.
Also according to Rotoworld, Hill was released by the Jaguars due to problems with dropped passes and not being able to get open down the field.
Elway says Broncos to spend more than NFL salary cap in 2012
The Broncos will spend more on their 2012 payroll than they did in 2011. "Cash-wise we'll spend more than cap this year," John Elway, the Broncos' head of football operations, said today. "But that's where it comes down to how everybody accounts and how the numbers get skewed. Whether you're over the cap or under the cap it just comes down to the accounting."
Denver Broncos Sign Guard C.J. Davis
The Denver Broncos on Wednesday signed free-agent guard C.J. Davis, it was announced.
Davis (6-foor-2, 308 pounds) will enter his third NFL season in 2012 after spending his first two professional campaigns (2009-10) with Carolina. He originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Panthers in 2009 before being placed on injured reserve at the end of training camp during his rookie season. He was signed to the Panthers' active roster from their practice squad in 2010 and played seven games for the club to close out the season.
He played 45 career games (43 starts) at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a first-team All-Big East Conference selection as a senior. Davis attended West Alleghemy High School in Imperial, Pa., and was born on Feb. 2, 1987.

Here's the Pre-Combine report on Davis from 2009
Positives: Stout wide-body inside. ... Versatile enough to handle all three interior spots. ... Nimble setting up for pass protection. ... Quick getting his hands up after the snap and can land his punch. ... Puts his man on the ground when run blocking. ... Calls blocking assignments, even before shifting to center. ... Can anchor and drive his man backward. ... Wins the leverage battle in short-yardage situations. ... Vocal leader on and off the field, coaches call him a hard worker at practice. Negatives: His lack of height may make him a better center than guard. ... Not fleet-footed when getting ahead of screens. ... Ineffective cut blocker. ... Relies on his upper-body strength too much instead of moving his feet in pass protection. ... Does not always recognize late blitzers. ... Holds too long on assist blocks and can't recover to pick up defenders going to the quarterback. ... Must lock onto defenders in the open and sustain those blocks more consistently; linebackers can disengage from him too easily.
MHR Poll of the Week: The Broncos Off-Season Begins
Well I'm glad to say MHR Poll of the Week is back, and hopefully we can continue to do our best to keep the pulse on Bronco Country. Normally in this section we would review the previous week's poll, but since it's been a while, so we'll just take a look down memory lane and see how Mile High Report did in a few of it's predictions. Now I didn't include all the final data, just a few that stuck out in retrospect.

Denver Broncos Free Agent Review: Ryan McBean
Defensive Lineman Ryan McBean is the next Denver Broncos Free Agent we will look at. McBean is going into his 5th year in the NFL and is a Restricted Free Agent who entered the league as a 4th round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2007. Ryan was cut, re-signed to the Practice Squad, activated for one game and cut again by the Steelers. He joined the Broncos in September of 2008 and spent that season on the Practice Squad after competing in Pittsburgh’s training camp to begin the year. McBean started all 14 games he played for the Broncos in 2009 and registered a career-high 25 Tackles as a Defensive End. In 2010, Ryan struggled a bit with the position change to Defensive Tackle. He appeared in all 16 games (4 starts) and made 18 Tackles while recovering one Fumble

Denver Broncos Free Agent Preview: Jonathan Wilhite
Next up in the free agent preview series is DB Jonathan Wilhite. Coming out of Auburn, Wilhite was taken in the 4th round of the 2008 draft by the New England Patriots. For most of the 2008 season he would play behind, of all people, Deltha O'Neil before assuming the starting role for the last quarter of the season. He would play sporadically over the next couple seasons until the "Turk" knocked on his door at the end of Patriots training camp in 2011. Less than a week later he was a Denver Bronco.
Jonathan is not the first Wilhite to wear the orange and blue. However, there is no relation between him and back-flipping sensation/legend RB Gerald Willhite (note the extra "L" in his name).
Denver Broncos Free Agent Review: Manny Ramirez
Manny Ramirez was an almost non-entity for the Broncos. After being signed to a contract on January 4, 2011, Ramirez never got on the field until he was used in some spot duty during Denver's playoff loss to New England.
Overview:
The Detroit Lions drafted Ramirez with high expectations in 2007. He had been listed as the #4 overall offensive guard prospects by ESPN Insider. In his four years with Detroit, he played in only eighteen games with fifteen starts. His best season was in 2008 when he earned thirteen starts, drew only three penalties and gave up only one-half of a sack. He was waived by Detroit in October of 2010 and signed to a contract by Denver three months later.
