Mel Kiper(ESPN.com) - (Updated 1/22) #12 - Ryan Clady OT 6-6 315 Boise St. If Kiper says so it has to be true, right? No doubt O-Line will be on the Broncos radar. -- TSG"
Inside The Iggles - (Updated 1/22) #12 - Dan Connor LB 6-3 233 Penn State Their Take - "The Broncos really suffered with the loss of Al Wilson. Their run defense was one of the NFL’s worst, and a tackling machine like Dan Connor is just what they need. Penn State is known as "Linebacker U" for a reason, and it’s hard to go wrong with the winner of the Chuck Bednarik Award."
Huddle Geeks - (Updated 2/4) #12 - Kenny Phillips FS 6-2 210 Miami Phillips' name is all over this database. His stock, however, seems to be falling a bit. -- TSG
Draft Headquarters - (Updated 1/28) #12 - Dan Connor LB 6-3 233 Penn State Their Take - "The Broncos run defense was among the worst in the league this year. While defensive tackle may be a bigger need than linebacker, there aren't any tackles worth taking with Glenn Dorsey and Sedrick Ellis already off the board. Connor one of the best linebackers available this year and has the potential to be a very good player at the next level. With Matt Lepsis retiring, Ryan Clady and Chris Williams could be possibilites."
Rivals.com - (Updated 1/18) #12 - Ryan Clady OT 6-6 315 Boise St. Their Take - "The Broncos offensive line must improve for QB Jay Cutler to take the next step as an NFL starter."
FF Toolbox - (Updated 1/23) #12 - Dan Connor LB 6-3 233 Penn State Their Take - "Connor enjoyed a brilliant career and Penn State and he is ready to make an instant impact at the next level. The Denver defense has plenty of holes, but linebacker is a particular area of need. Rivers would play in the middle, allowing the Broncos to move D.J. Williams back to outside linebacker where he belongs."
NFL Draft Blitz - (Updated 1/15) #12 - Early Doucet WR 6-0 207 LSU Solid Title game improved his stock, but the Broncos have bigger needs than WR. -- TSG
Sport and Thought - (Updated 1/29) #12 - Kenny Phillips FS 6-2 210 Miami Another vote for Phillips -- TSG
Prophets of Game - (Updated 1/30) #12 - Sam Baker OT 6-5 305 USC Their Take -- "Recently, starting left tackle Matt Lepsis announced his retirement and Javon Walker has publicly stated that he and the team should part ways. As a result, we've gone back and forth on our pick here and we expect free agency to have played a bigger role for the Broncos than most other teams come draft day. Until we have reason to believe otherwise, we'll assume that Shanahan will not allow his offensive line to be ignored."
Draft Dog - (Updated 1/23) #12 - Dan Connor LB 6-3 233 Penn State Their Take -- The Broncos need an infusion of toughness to their linebacking corps. Connor is an elite run stopper and was the winner of the Chuck Bednarik Award.
Sports Fountainhead - (Updated 1/28) #12 - Kenny Phillips FS 6-2 210 Miami Their Take - "Mike Shanahan never shies away from draft day deals and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him call New England about the seventh pick. At that slot they’d have a chance a Sedrick Ellis. At 12 they will not. Here they could go a number of ways with a LB or some offensive line help. However Phillips has the same amount of potential as his predecessors from Miami and could become a playmaker for the Broncos."
Inside The Eagles - (Updated 2/4) #12 - DeSean Jackson WR 6-0 172 Cal Their Take - "Jackson has blazing 4.29 speed. Has the potential to take it to the house every time. Will have an immediate impact as a return guy."
The Landry Hat - (Updated 1/19) #12 - Limas Sweed WR 6-5 219 Texas Their Take - "It seems like Denver has a good QB but no receiver wants to stay there or perform." Guru's Take -- First, what an ass! Brandon Marshall seems to be performing quite nicely. Imagine, however, Sweed and Marshall together. Easily the biggest receiving corps in the NFL!
New NFL Draft - (Updated 2/4) #12 - Keith Rivers LB 6-3 220 USC Their Take - "Frank Okam is a beast in the middle and is shown that he can stop the run as well as put pressure on the QB. Okam is projected a little lower in some other drafts but he is a big body that can help stop the run which is very important for the Broncos. Their offense is pretty strong but maybe a receiver, DE, or Corner in this position are also other possibilities."
