2012 Denver Broncos Offseason
Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos Get Back To Work
The Denver Broncos are back on the field, this time as a team, as the 3rd phase of OTAs got underway earlier Monday out at Dover Valley. Over 60 media personnel are on hand with their 1.2 mp cell phone cameras to take pictures and tweet each and every Peyton Manning pass and audible.
I'll post a few of my favorite tweets from those in attendance, but first a look at who is NOT at OTAs. According to various people in place the Broncos are missing four players - DT Derek Wolfe, LB D.J. Williams, DL Ty Warren and PK Matt Prater are all missing. Wolfe is attending graduation, the Broncos are trying to get Warren to agree to a smaller number and Prater has yet to sign his franchise tender. According to his twitter account, Williams will be in court today. He has been present at all of the offseason workouts to date.
These workouts, of course, are 'voluntary'. The Broncos won't hold a mandatory mini-camp until June 12.
Now, on to the tweets. You can follow along right here with all the Tweets from the media on the ground at OTAs and talk about it in the comments!

Ryan Clady and the Broncos Engage In Contract Talks
Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports the Broncos and left tackle Ryan Clady have begun contract negotiations.
Clady is entering his last year of his rookie contract after being a first round pick by the Broncos in 2008.
Clady was a Pro Bowl tackle in his first two seasons but injured his knee in the offseason on 2010. Clady has never missed a start in all four years though and will be a huge part of helping Peyton Manning get off passes.
Broncos Sign 5th Round Draft Pick Malik Jackson
The Denver Broncos announced that they have signed their 5th round Draft pick. Defensive End Malik Jackson came to terms with the team.
The Broncos 137th overall selection is the second of their seven 2012 Draft picks to come to terms. Jezru made up this video montage of Jackson here, so you can get all excited once more.
Things are coming together quite nicely in the land of Orange anf Blue.

Omar Bolden Receives 4-Year Contract
As the Kaptain posted about yesterday, the Broncos signed the first of their 2012 draft picks by coming to terms with 4th Round selection Omar Bolden. Now we have some numbers regarding what Bolden, coming off an injury-riddled college career at Arizona State, will receive:
Broncos fourth-rounder Omar Bolden's four-year deal is worth $2.574 million, including a $474,428 bonus, per a source.
— Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) May 18, 2012
When Bolden was on the field he was productive, finishing with 138 tackles and 7 interceptions. The Broncos are hoping Bolden's days in the training room are over and he can bring youth and depth to the Broncos defensive backfield.

Official: Denver Broncos Sign CB Drayton Florence
The Denver Broncos agreed to terms with free-agent cornerback Drayton Florence on Thursday, the team announced.
Florence (6-foot-0, 193 pounds) is a 10th-year player who has seen action in 136 career regular-season games (96 starts) with San Diego (2003-07), Jacksonville (2008) and Buffalo (2009-11), totaling 425 tackles (359 solo), 17 interceptions (204 yds.), 89 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. He also played five postseason games (3 starts) and recorded 21 tackles (17 solo) with three interceptions (34 yds.) and six passes defensed.
"Coming to Denver, meeting with Coach Fox, just knowing the history about the Broncos, I thought it was a great fit. The offseason additions with Peyton Manning, obviously-when you have a guy like that playing the quarterback position, it gives your team a great opportunity to go out and win ballgames. Then with the defense they already had in place here, I just thought it was a great fit. [CB] Champ Bailey, obviously, being one of the better corners in this league for a while, being able to play with him is something that's going to be special. [CB] Tracy Porter is a guy that's here also that is going to contribute to this defense. I just thought it would be a good fit for me to come in here and bring my physical attributes and playmaking abilities to this team, try to get into the playoffs and make a run at a ring."
Little Known Broncos Facts - Elway the Punter
This is what I am hoping will be the first in a series of articles which will be titled: Little Known Broncos Facts. It is intended to provide our avid Broncos fans with a little bit of light-hearted, historical trivia with which to while away these long spring and summer days as we wait for the Broncos 2012 season to begin in earnest. So, let's begin.
John Elway. The name conjures up all kinds of images: The Drive, The Helicopter, 4th Quarter Comebacks, Schottenheimer's Nemesis, Passing Records, Back-to-Back Super Bowl Wins, Face of the Franchise. The list could go on and on and on. The Broncos were able to pull off the steal of the 1983 NFL Draft when Elway was able to force Baltimore Colts owner Jim Irsay to trade him. The Colts got QB Mark Hermann, OL Chris Hinton and a 1984 1st round pick -- which was used on G Ron Solt. The Broncos got Elway and history was made.
However, when we look at all of the accomplishments of John Elway during his sixteen years as a Bronco, one rarely gets mentioned: John Elway the Punter.
