2008 NFL Mock Drafts - Round 2

2008 Mock Draft Database
Site 2nd Rnd Pick Pos. Ht. Wt. College Pick Assessment
Fantasy Football Jungle - (Updated 1/21) #44 - Beau Bell LB 6-3 245 UNLV A Second Round sleeper, Bell could be an option should the Broncos trade down a bit. -- TSG
Fantasy Football Jungle - (Updated 1/30) #42 - Steve Justice C 6-4 284 Waker Forest Their Take - "The Broncos pride themselves on being able to find the O-linemen and RB's they need in the later rounds, but there are more teams that are using their zone/cut blocking scheme so they can't depend on finding guys late if they want to remain competitive. I only got to see one Wake Forest game this year but I saw plenty last year. In both cases I saw an O-line that knew their assignments and defenders that couldn't get penetration up the middle. Both responsibilities fall on the center and Justice does a fine job with them. He isn't big (about 287 lbs.) but that fits what Denver does perfectly."
Fantasy Football Toolbox - (Updated 1/17) #42 - Curtis Lofton ILB 6-0 238 Oklahoma Their Take - "Another interior player to help sure up the run defense."
NFL Draft Guys - (Updated 1/29) #44 - Dre Moore DT 6-4 311 Maryland Their Take - "Bulks up the Broncos defense and hopefully improves the run defense. Fills gaps well."
Draft Season - (Updated 1/28) #43 - Curtis Lofton LB 6-0 238 Oklahoma Their Take - "Broncos need a solind inside linebacker, so they can move D.J. back to the outside."
Sports Fountainhead - (Updated 1/28) #44 - Curtis Lofton ILB 6-0 238 Oklahoma Lofton seems to be a solid possible choice in the 2nd Round. -- TSG
DraftTek - (Updated 1/31) #43 - Anthony Collins OT 6-5 310 Kansas O-Line in Round 2? Hopefully not... -- TSG
Walter Football - (Updated 1/31) #42 - Dre Moore DT 6-4 311 Maryland Their Take -- Denver was 30th against the run last year and desperately needs to acquire some talent at defensive tackle. If Gosder Cherilus falls, look for the Broncos to take him, as Matt Lepsis' retirement really hurts their offensive line.
Consensus Draft - (Updated 1/25) #44 - Xavier Adibi LB 6-2 219 Virginia Tech Not a chance. Adibi's size is nearly identical to Kenny Phillips. Phillips is a safety, Adibi is a linebacker. - TSG
Junkyard Jake - (Updated 1/30) #44 - Mario Manningham WR 6-0 178 Michigan Solid college player, but I really don't think he translates well to the NFL - TSG
**The Broncos, by virtue of the NFL's tie-breaking system, will have the 11th pick in the 2nd round, and will rotate picks in each proceeding round. The correct 2nd round pick for the Broncos is #42(11th pick).
