TItans @ Broncos -- Third Quarter Open Thread

     @

Date: Monday, November 19, 2007

Time: 6:30 p.m. MST

Teams: Tennessee Titans (6-3, Tied for 2nd in AFC South) at Denver Broncos (4-5, Tied for 2nd in AFC West)

Location: Invesco Field @ Mile High - Denver, CO

Broncos Sixth Drive --

--Broncos get the ball to start the second half, having gone 4/4 on drives in the first half, not counting the play that ended the half...
--In a game that could easily be 28-10, the Broncos inability to score touchdowns in the red-zone give the Titans life. A score to start the second half would be a nice way to keep the pressure on Young...
--Would love to see Andre Hall get a shot at returning a kick-off tonight, but Bironas is unlikely to give him that chance.
--Alot more football being talked in the booth tonight compared to the Packers game...Nice to see and hear..
--Cutler throws one in the ground...The Broncos need to find a way to keep Cutler in the feel of the game during halftime..
--Nice throw and catch there, and Brandon Marshall has his first catch...
--Titans are stacking the line, begging the Broncos to throw the football..
--Another run, another stuff....3rd and five...
--Cutler looking for Marshall now, and after the high snap Cutler does a great job picking up the first down.
--Young running hard, keeping the Broncos in manageable 3rd down situations...
--We really didn't need that...Young getting rolled up in the pile...
--Marshall into the end-zone for the Touchdown and the Broncos strike again!!!BRONCOS 27 - Titans 10

Titans Sixth Drive --

--Now the defense needs to show up and make a stop....
--Oops...Big Sam Adams gives the Titans a first down...
--Young a little late on that pass. I will say it again and again...Young cannot play quarterback for 60 minutes...
--Assisted by a couple Titans' drops, and the Broncos force the Titans to punt...
--Nevermind...Glenn Martinez with a HUGE fumble, and the Tians are right back in business...
--Young gets the Titans inside the 10, and the Titans have a little hop in his step...
--Young gets in the end-zone..but the refs don't give it to him
--The Titans are stopped on 3rd down, but a Denver timeout nullifies the play. Now the Titans can challenge, and if they do it should be a TD...
--Young gets hurt on a play that doesn't count...and Tennessee is challenging the play prior. It should be a Touchdown.
--Touchdown Titans, though Tennessee may have lost alot more on a play that doesn't matter.
--BRONCOS 27 - Titans 17

Broncos Seventh Drive --

--Nice return for Hall gives the offense nice field position...
--Titans getting physically beaten tonight. Nice to see....
--Keith Bullock showing his speed around the outside. So much for the lack of penalties. A big holding penalty on Erik Pears.
--That will probably do it for Selvin Young, whose showing some toughness in trying to keep playing...
--Come on!! A screen to Cecil Sapp???Big 3rd down here...
--Well timed blitz by the Titans and the Broncos have to punt for the first time. Momentum changing in favor of the Titans..

Titans Seventh Drive --

--Another golden opportunity for the Broncos but they are unable to come up with the fumble..
--Big run by White, and the Broncos defense looks a bit weary, spending alot of time on the field tonight.
--Another penalty on the Broncos, the second on Sam Adams. Orange and Blue getting sloppy now...
--Titans picking up alot of yardage on the ground now...
--Lynch looks hurt again...This is simply tough to watch....
--This game is slowly becoming the type of game the Titans want to play...
--Another fumble...The 4th tonight by the Titans, but the Titans are able to recover...
--A big third down will welcome us to the 4th quarter....

END OF THIRD QUARTER -- BRONCOS 27 - TITANS 17

Denver
has 0 penalties.  nada.  zilch.

This team is getting its head pulled out and screwed on, no doubt about it.

Looks that way
But too paraphrase Winston Wolf in Pulp Fiction: Let's not start sucking each other's popsicles yet.

VY
is looking awesome too.  Thankfully he's pretty much the only one.  Notice that he has hit 7 different receivers.  Very nice.  Cutler still hasn't found marshall, but didn't you just KNOW that he was going to get his number called after he laid out Laboy?

Sounds like
there might be popsicles ;)

Also
isn't it great to see yardage magically morph into points?  You get the feeling that whatever black-lined cloud was hanging over the Broncos, causing the bleak misfortunes we've been trying to crawl under and hurdle over, may just have finally blown out of town.

BTW, where's Simeon Rice?

j/k

ESPN Idol?
Why is ESPN playing Jordan Sparks music?  FOX show ... no guy in the world watching this show gives a crap ... wtf?  honestly.  ESPN commentators make me puke in my mouth.

Yeah
Who decided to make the soundtrack to this game Jordin freaking Sparks? This is football, not the 7th grade social.

Sheesh. This broadcast makes me want more TBS playoff baseball.
