Broncos Re-Sign Snell, Cut Johnson

Remember the Chad Mustard/Stephen Alexander revolving door from earlier in the year?  Well, it's back, with two new contestants.....

The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed guard Isaac Snell and waived fullback Kyle Johnson, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced.

Snell (6-foot-6, 288 pounds) is a second-year player who rejoins the Broncos for his second stint with the club after he was waived on Thursday. Snell signed with Denver from Tennessee's practice squad on Oct. 10 and was inactive for all five games during his time on the Broncos' roster.

A North Dakota State University product, Snell entered the NFL with the New York Jets as a college free agent on April 29, 2005. After seeing time on the Jets' practice squad and active roster as a rookie, he was allocated to NFL Europa and played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in the spring of 2006. He joined the Titans' practice squad on Nov. 1, 2006, and concluded the year with that group.

At NDSU, Snell played 37 career games and totaled 109 tackles along with seven sacks as a linebacker and defensive lineman.

Snell was an honorable mention all-state pick at Pipestone High School in Pipestone, Minn., and was born on Nov. 4, 1981

I thought we were out of players in the backfield.
What the hell?!

Henry, Young, Hall, and Smith are all injured.

We are down to Sapp at RB and Bell at FB. That is it. We have zero depth.

Kyle Johnson has been out of football for too long. He wasn't ready for the Bears game. If we want him back, we out to give him some practice time.

Orange County is hot. Really! Haven't you seen the weather report?

And the point
Of signing Johnson for one game was.....?

Again I guess they think Bell won't be carrying the ball too often from now on so they want him at FB.

Depth
Johnson has been a pretty consistant fullback, not always the best but consistant. He can also block better than Bell which would move Bell into the starting tailback job should Henry, Young and Hall be unable to play in Oakland. Our biggest focus should be consistant running (playing in general I guess) within the Red Zone. It doesnt help that our focal point of our O-line (Nalen) is out. He has always been able to see the Defense well and read which way the line should go. having Hamilton out doesnt help either.
