On the decline???

Whoever thinks that is smokin crack. This is just an example of the ebb and flow of the NFL. When you say decline I think of the 90's Bungals, or the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s Lions and Cardinals. Denver is just in transition..a two year transitional period is a far cry from being in decline.

3-5 is tough to swallow. And two big blowouts are too.

I just keep thinking to myself:

As long as the rest of the division is sucking it buys us time to get our act together.
We look like we're in great shape to make some tweaks to the roster for next year and be in a good position for then.

This season is not hte end of the world (even if it feels that way). I'm a rare guy in that I buy Mike's "kool-aid". I don't think we really are rebuilding. We're in transistion, and we're fishing around a bit to see what we need.

Fans want to win all of the time. But the Mastermind has the patience to tweak things here and there to get the right combo.

I agree

completely with what Shanahan said about "rebuilding". Using the term rebuilding is making excuses for yourself for not winning. He doesn't want or need any excuses for the losses. He wants and needs wins. Rebuilding, as a concept, is what is known as a "floating abstraction", in that it is not tied to any concrete ideas or existents. It is just a vague concept that is thrown out at whim to justify whatever position somebody wishes to hold by whatever emotional spur of the moment. I refuse to debate whether we are rebuilding with anyone who can't first rationally define what rebuilding means in a non-contradictory fashion. It is a wishy washy word which doesn't satisfy any conditions required for explaining anything about the Broncos or any other team.

Sorry about the rant fellow MHRrs. Glad I got if off my chest, though.

Throw in the post Super Bowl Raiders

they haven't sniffed at being good the past 5 years.

Although now that I think of it, half of Oakland's wins this year are against the winless Dolphins and the Broncos only barely beat the Raiders after a bit of luck, so what does that say about the Broncos? :(

As for a question for Chris from ArrowheadPride: I would be curious to know his opinion on what Priest Holmes has left in the tank, especially if LJ is out for the season.

He got some practice in.

Second half of practice.

The key (according to our fearless leader Guru) is to watch for if he practices well on Thur.

If NotAnOtter can't make it for the show, could you ask Chris what is up with KC fans being so enamored with their rankings in Power Polls and Stadium rankings and sportstown rankings??? Their obsessed with what other people think about them. It's not healthy.

Decline

I think we are on a temporary decline because we are phasing out the old guard, like Lynch and Smith and eventually Lepsis and Nalen. But by 09 we will have a full-fledged powerhouse.
