Sauerbrun to be Cut; Marshall Rumors from Profootballtalk.com
Firstly here is the link for the Sauerbrun story.
It looks to me like Denver has decided that they are going to raise their expectations for the team, which is great news. This is less about second (and third and fourth) chances and onfield production as it is about wanting to set a higher standard for the team. They expect leaders even on STs and they aren't willing to tolerate the underachieving anymore, which is saying something when you are talking about a punter, whom Shanahan once referred to as "The only player who I wouldn't care if he was fat..."
Secondly, this rumor will probably float around to some of you today, and I warn you that it is likely either made up or totally overblown. I'm not interested in bashing anyone else in the blogosphere, but sometimes www.profootballtalk.com does the information community a huge disservice. But what do they care for what I think, I just plugged 'em.
Marshall is young, and if you have any doubts about whether he is a guy who follows his emotions, for better or worse, shelve them. He is emotionally oriented and directed, but if anyone can make him more of a professional and teach him to harness that energy and power and put it in service of his rational mind, it will be Shanahan. We all had to go through this process to some degree, but it can be upsetting when a regular Joe gets it figured out around 16 or so, and an adult being paid millions seems to be actually putting off this part of his personal development.
You need to put this kind of stuff behind you, Marshall.
Love, MHR

I saw
My mind went into action immediately, reprioritizing Marshall's value to the team and my own personal estimation of him. I could see Doom's jersey moving ahead of Marshall's in the proshop of my mind. I was considering looking up his salary structure and familiarizing myself with his cap implcations...
Then I realized it was his previous DUI. No new trouble... My mind relaxed and deflated a bit upon realizing this, and the dogs were called off.
But I realized how close I am to not buying this kid.

Good stuff Guru
As to the Marshall rumor, I'm not going to put a lot of stock in it for now. The authors of the story on Sauerbrun showed enough of a misunderstanding of employment law re Sauerbrun that I'm not sure I trust them to get a rumor right.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
That made my day...don't hit your butt on the way out Todd!
I can top that...
lol : )

he rumor about Marshall doesn't add up...
Found this in Mason's blog:
"Wide receiver Brandon Marshall and defensive end Elvis Dumervil were also thought to be possible Pro Bowl selections, but did not see their names on the list. Marshall ranks fifth in the AFC and seventh in the NFL in receptions and receiving yardage, with 86 catches for 1,136 yards so far this season, including 21 receptions and a pair of 100-yard games in the last two weeks.
"I can't speak about the Pro Bowl (but) I can tell you one thing, next year we won't be on the bubble as far as going to the playoffs," Marshall said Monday. "I think we'll be flying smooth around this time next year. (As for the) Pro Bowl, hopefully I get in it next year and every year after that, but we've got to get to the playoffs." "
People are being too hard on Marshall I think. Give the guy some room already.
See ya later Sauerbrun...
As for Marshall... I don't entirely think it's true, but I am worried that he might go down the path of other well-publicized NFL troublemakers, and we don't need that to happen. At all.
