The Typical Raider Fans Season.

I found this graph on some economic website I was surfing, but all I saw was how it represented a typical Raider fans season as it progresses.

Star-divide

March 1st = Optimism The Raider fan starts to delude themselves into thinking that their team actually has a shot at making the playoffs next year.

Mid March = Excitement The Raider fan starts to really believe that their high draft pick is going to be the second coming of Christ

Draft Day = Thrill The selection of a beast of a college football player sends The Raider fan into the stratosphere, they begin to think the Super Bowl is within reach!

Weeks following Draft = Euphoria The Raider fan further deludes themselves into thinking that not only will the Raiders win the division, but they might even be on the cusp of a World Championship

Pre-Training Camp = Anxiety The hold out of their top draft pick begins to make the Raider fan anxious, but they are in it for the long haul and nothing can sap their belief that their team is still playoff bound

Mid-Training Camp = Denial Even though their new top draft pick is still holding out, the Raider fan begins to tell themselves that their new star can still make a significant impact in the upcoming season

Pre-Season = Fear Still no top draft pick as the Raider fan watches their team get destroyed in every game, but there is still a hint of optimism - after all, it is just the pre-season!

Week 1 = Desperation Their top pick is still not on the team as the Raider fan watches a thirty point blowout against the Denver Broncos

Week 4 = Panic After an 0-4 start, the Raider fan's panic is calmed by the signing of a record contract to their hold out top draft pick.  This causes the Raider fan to believe that they will see some divisional rivals fall to the Raiders.

Week 10 = Capitulation The Raiders finally win a game as the Raider fan capitulates to wondering how they could have been so wrong.  The highly touted draft pick is on injured reserve after playing in 4 games and not making much of an impact.

Week 16 = Despondency The Raiders win just their second game of the year as the Raider fan quietly despairs at how things could still be so bad for their favorite team.

End of the Season = Depression After ending the season being blown out by the rival Broncos, the Raider fan seeps into a deep depression.

Super Bowl = Hope After watching the Super Bowl, the Raider fan feels better and starts thinking about the next season.

Pro Bowl = Relief Relieved the season is finally over, the Raider fan starts to gear up for the next season as they start believing that with the rookie season out of the way, their top draft pick from last season will no doubt be a dominating force next season.

March 1st = Optimism The Raider fan starts to delude themselves into thinking that their team actually has a shot at making the playoffs next year.

As I have said before...
... to be a raider fan and still be living.  Some poor unfortunates just can't catch a break.
