Broncos Close To Signing A Pair Of Wide Receivers
Looks like the Broncos aren't done in Free Agency after all. According to the Denver Post, the Broncos are close to signing a pair of wide receivers --
Parker, 27, was the Chiefs' No. 2 receiver in 2005-06, averaging 38.5 catches and 547 yards. He and the Broncos could finalize an agreement today.
Few receivers have a more impressive resume than Jackson, who was released by San Francisco after last season largely to avoid paying $4 million in salary and bonus. He has averaged 61 receptions in his eight NFL seasons and has three seasons of at least 1,000 yards. He caught 10 TD passes in 2006.
While both are considered question marks, it is a positive sign to see the team actively trying to address a glaring hole on the roster....

I wonder just how effective

everyone does...
I think it looks good - it gives some depth (at the very least) on a thin position - everything depends on their salaries obviously.

Crazy thought here.
Hmmmmm.
Is it possible that Mike is going to spend several (and I mean "several") picks to move way higher than expected? Is it possible that we'll use a few picks that are left for the OL?
I'm talking higher than Ellis. The key for me is that the deal for DRob seems dependent on something, and it is for draft weekend. And we have soooooo many picks. Just thinking....

What COULD happen...
Shanny loves to trade up, and our draft day deal IS for a DT (DRob). In that event (Dorsey), I don't think the DRob deal would then go through.

I knew this scenario
I thought that pursuing Ellis would have been a real draftbuster, but Dorsey would take the cake. I can see it happening in every way except salary cap-wise.
The salary cap says to move down, methinks...

It shouldn't come from me!
The funny thing is, there is enough evidence for people to cling to if they want to. That we have filled so many positions with FA, and the glaring ommission is DT, Shanahan's penchant for trading up for who he really wants, AND having a draft day deal in place for a DT if we don't get what we want just opens the door enough for folks to see the possibility.
I don't think it will happen, but the signs are there for reasonable speculation.
