Hmmm....
These were the Broncos of John Elway and Terrell Davis and Shannon Sharpe and Rod Smith, the Broncos that finished the NFL ranked No. 1 in offense and No. 1 in scoring. These also were the Broncos that allowed an NFL-worst 4.7 yards per rushing attempt and whose overall run defense allowed more yards (1,803) than Terrell Davis gained (1,750), and Davis had been voted the NFL’s MVP that season.

Anyone have any thoughts about this compared to what we have the potential to do in the coming season?

95 defense: 23rd against the rush (118.4yds/gm), 17th scoring (21pts/gm), 10th against the pass (206.1yds/gm)
96 defense: 1st against the rush (83yds/gm), 7th scoring (17.2pts/gm), 10th against the pass (196.2yds/gm)
97 defense: 16th against the rush (112.7yds/gm), 6th scoring (17.9pts/gm), 5th against the pass (179.2yds/gm)
98 defense:  3rd against the rush (80.4yds/gm), 8th scoring (19.3pts/gm), 26th against the pass (228yds/gm)

Each of the above seasons were accompanied by either the #1 rushing attack on offense, or the #1 overall offense in the league...

I wish my sig was as cool as mdierks!

TD
was not the NFL MVP in 1997 Brett Farve was. Td was the MVP for the league in 1998. Figures a whiny article by the steelers would be inaccurate. I for one would love to see the Defense be in the middle of the pack in rushing yards allowed and in the top 5 in points allowed. Thats the difference in playing into January and playing golf in January
