Jared Allen's Days In Kansas City Numbered
According to FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer, Jared Allen won't be a Kansas City Chief for much longer --
Allen told FOXSports.com that the Vikings and Buccaneers have held trade talks with the Chiefs and he anticipates a deal will get done prior to next week's draft.
Allen said he had a visit set up with the Vikings this weekend in Minnesota and is tentatively scheduled to meet with Tampa Bay next week as well.
The Pro Bowl defensive end is the Chiefs' franchise player, but re-signing in Kansas City will be a problem as the team is looking to stockpile draft picks.
Allen said the two sticking points are working out terms of a deal with a new team and the Chiefs agreeing to compensation for a trade.
If they was any doubt about the Chiefs going into full re-building mode, this should put that to rest. One less harasser for Cutler to worry about.

Interesting.
I think this could be a player for player trade, though. How about Chad Johnson or Lito Sheppard? Both of those teams could use a DE like Allen (who couldn't?) and have a star ready to ship out. Thoughts?
Possible but....
I saw a rumor started already that Miami wants to give the Chefs the #1 pick for allen straight across... Now wouldn't that be interesting?

This makes sense
IF KC wants to improve...
KC needs as many draft picks as possible. I doubt they trade up for Ryan, but I can see them going after Flacco and Clady.
As far as quality opponents in the AFC West, I think Oakland's improving. Kiffin's the real deal, but he'll only get better if Al Davis loosens his grip on the personnel matters there.
I think JaMarcus could have BUST written all over him, but he didn't look half bad against Denver when he played a few downs last season, so only time will tell.
If they draft McFadden, I'll be bummed, mostly because I want to root for McFadden, but if he plays for the Raiders, the only thing I'll be rooting for is his legs to fall off.
I am assuming they go defense.
San Diego has enough talent for 2 (NFC) teams, but I won't be surprised if they win a less games this season.
I think Phil Rivers is average and that's all. San Diego still doesn't have a #1 WR and Gates is getting more and more injury prone as he gets older.
Their O-Line and LT are tough as nails though and that's why they dominated Denver last year. Their strength matched up perfectly with our weakness.
Their defense seems like they are pretty solid, so I'm happy that we play them in Denver in week 2. It will be a good way to get a read on where we are compared to last year, when they took us to the shed TWICE.
I think the Broncos have a chance at 10 or 11 wins, but how they perform in this year's draft and how last year's draft choices contribute will ultimately determine that, in my mind.
If Denver nails the draft and gets contribution from multiple draft picks from this and last year's drafts, they'll have a shot, but if we hear nothing from Moss, Thomas, Harris, and Crowder, we're in BIG trouble.
What Happened?
- Kansas City is taking HUGE steps backwards (I feel bad for LJ)
- Oakland has an EXTREMELY dominant secondary, continuing their latest theme of a good pass defense. Offense may need some work, but if D-Mac heads to Oakland via the draft, watch out. They could steal some wins from us yet again.
- Finally, the Chargers are a team that seems to have Denver's number...well, at least LaDanian Tomlinson his Denver's number. The classic "Denver has trouble stopping the run" statement in recent years has always been proven by LT. Some pretty disappointing games against the Bolts, but here's to it all turning around and to getting some power up the middle.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but...
And even in that Monday night loss in 2006 where Wilson was hurt, the Broncos were ahead at the half. Then Wilson went down, and the Broncos lost heart and the game, and it seems like they've struggled to get it back on defense ever since.
