Comments By Cutler 'Surprise' John Elway

His comments on Cutler and the Broncos are closer to the end, after all the Arena League/Broncos-Browns stuff. The Crush head to Cleveland to play the Gladiators Friday, who are owned by Bernie Kosar....

I have mixed feelings about this interview...
boy do I miss Elway.  I'm riding the wave over the next month or so. It'll be good for the soul for all of us. ;)

I wish Elway was interested in coaching for the Broncos.  He'd be a good one.

I dunno about this
Elway has a point, shouldnt settle things in the press. I don't think Cutler did, I think Walker did no question, but I think JC just voiced his opinion and BMarsh understands that.

John...
... should stay out of it.

Ironic we're always hearing about how Denver fans can't stop thinking of Elway.  This is a perfect example of a time when the media could have just let this lie but perused an answer, deliberately trying  to incite a reaction.

That's weak.

Oh The Irony
Of Elway making a comment to the media about how he wouldn't comment to the media.

Ha, excellent point...
although Elway is not a current Bronco.  He is free to give his opinion.  He isn't throwing any of his teammates under the bus.  ;)

Welcome to MHR, Fan
And good catch.  From my vantage point, both cutler's interview and comments, and Elway's interviews and comments were coherent opinions in response to media questions.

Whether something is "handled in the media" or not is a false dichotomy:  guys like elway and cutler have their business taken care of WELL before any media hounds get their dirty leavins'.  What Elway learned early was that no matter how sincere a reporter might seem, most of them have ulterior motives in their questions, and you are better off treating your words like prized gems that might be stolen.  Because that is exactly what the media does, they steal the content of the comments, pull a little here, prod a little there, slip in a carefully selected adjective and Voila! your saying what they want you to say...

BTW, mind me asking where exile is?

I wish my sig was as cool as mdierks!

Thanks for the welcome
Exile is a small town south of Green Bay, as opposed to some place where I could get to watch Broncos play. Although I do make the trek to Denver once a year to see a game and visit family.

I know what you mean about the media sometimes they want to make the story and not just report it.

Green Bay!
So you live close to Guru's Favorite Player! So do the fans see Aaron Rodgers as a lot of Bronco Fans saw Griese, the second coming? Or are they disappointed Far wont play till he's 180+? Welcome to MHR I have always found this site a wealth on knowledge and a treasure trove of people to know.

Odd
As said above, just odd that Elway makes the comments to the media about not talking through the media.

A note about the quality of the CBS video. AWFUL. Pop-up ads now embedded? Great, now I have to click the x 10 times during a video.

I dont know
I wish the lame media in Denver would quit asking him about the Broncos. I am sure he has some good insight but this isnt 1997, and its Cutlers team. Plus Elway does not know if Cutler has spoken to Marshall already. Maybe Cutler also is more savvy than anyone knows and is using the Marshall incident as way to tell all his teammates that this is "MY" team now. Plus different era of football now, too many young kids with too much money too soon
