Born at the foot of the Rocky Mountains at the height of the Free Love Era, Davus came screaming into this Orange and Blue world donning a helmet, shoulder pads, a Broncos jersey and a giant orange foam finger on his right hand.
"Look, it's a bouncing baby bronco!" His father exclaimed.
The year was 1967, and life was dismal for Denver's AFL team. Still, that didn't belay the Orange Fever that Davus had contracted at conception.
The symptoms only got worse year after year, until the disease consumed the boy entirely. A prick of the skin would bring forth the flow of Orange and Blue... a condition proven untreatable, even after many dismal AFL seasons, 4 sickening Super Bowl losses since the Great Merger, and a depression inducing loss to the Jags on January 5th, 1997.
Although the next two Super Bowls belonged to the Boys in Blue, the disease was not satiated, and only served to create a greater hunger for more Pigskin Glory.
Bronco Mania... it's not JUST a disease.... it's a WAY OF LIFE.
