A Few Good Questions With...DB Domonique Foxworth

This week, the MHR is excited to welcome DB Domonique Foxworth, who was kind enough to answer a few questions for us.  Being the middle of the regular season, the players are obviously very busy, but D found the time, and I am truly greatful...

MHR -- So far the defense has carried the load, not allowing a TD, while the offense has struggled.  Does the defensive personnel talk about this?  Does the defense feel extra pressure to be "perfect" knowing one big play could be the game?

DF - The defense does not feel any extra pressure. We just try to live up to our potential.

MHR - I have noticed on many plays the DB's play off the receiver's, allowing too much room at times.  Is this the defensive philosophy, to allow the short pass and make the tackle, in order to avoid the big play down field? Do you prefer to jam a receiver or to play off?

DF - When you have a defense as talented as ours, if you deny the offense of the BIG play they will not be able to score.

MHR - I feel Champ Bailey is one of the best overall defenders in the NFL, at any position.  How has he helped your game and what do you admire most about his game, and about Champ as a person?

DF - I admire Champ's work ethic.

MHR - A lot has been made about the friendly competition between you and fellow DB Darrent Williams.  It is obvious you guys are close on and off the field.  How has Darrent made you a better player, and what part of your game has helped him improve?

DF - I think the competition between us has made us both better players.

MHR - The Broncos will face the many of the best QB's in the game this season.  Does it psyche you up more to play against the best of the best, and how do you prepare for them?

DF - I definitely get excited about playing with the best players in the league.

MHR - Of the Broncos receivers, which impresses you the most and gives you the most trouble in practice?

DF - I think Javon Walker is one of the most talented receivers in the league.

Thanks again to Domonique Foxworth for taking time for us, and we wish him luck the rest of the way!!!
