Ramsey Was All Smiles In Washington
Another day, another need crossed off the Broncos off-season list. The team announced today that it reached an agreement with Patrick Ramsey to back up Jay Cutler at quarterback. The deal is reportedly for 2-years/$5 Million with $1.5 million guaranteed.
Ramsey has experience as a starting quarterback in Washington, but his results have been a moxed bag at best. For his career, Ramsey has completed 480 of 862 passes for 5,649 yards, with 34 touchdown passes, 29 interceptions and a passer rating of 74.9. His best season came in 2002, when he made 11 starts for the Redskins. Although he had a 4-7 record that year, Ramsey had 14 touchdown passes and nine interceptions.
I'll be honest. I am not a big fan of this signing, but after Brad Johnson signed with Dallas there really waasn't much out there to chosse from. There is no disputing Ramsey's arm or talent, but from what I have seen he can be a bit of a head case. At the end of the day there is a reason why I am here and Shanny/Sundquist are running a NFL franchise. I'll defer to them, but retain the right to revisit this in the future!
