With the 25th pick in the 2007 SBNation Mock NFL Draft, the New York Jets select....
Greg Olson, TE -- Miami
The Jets surprised everyone by getting to the playoffs last season, but there are still holes, starting with the offense. They filled one hughe need by trading for Thomas Jones to play running back. Santana Moss is solid as a #1 receiver, but if the Jets could add a pass catching threat at Tight End, Chad Pennington would become that much more effective and productive.
Olson seems to fit that mold. There are some questions, but his size(6-6, 255) and speed(4.51) should project him to be a better pro than he was in college. He didn't have the type of college career that was expected, but then again Miami didn't have the type of QB play that used to be the norm for the Hurricanes. A solid value for the Jets at this point in the draft.
The Philadelphia Eagles are now on the clock.
