Happy Birthday To A Legend

It's hard to believe, but John Elway, arguably the best quarterback in NFL history, turns 47 today.  Damn that makes me feel old, for sure.  I remember the draft, the trade, the first season, the Drive, the first Super Bowl loss, the second and the third, the lean years, the re-birth, the claims of Elway not being able to win the big one, and finally the culmination of all the pain and suffering with 2 Super Bowl wins.

I remember tearing up the day he announced his retirement, and while I watched the speech.  I was there three years ago when Elway was enshrined in Canton, when his daughter did such an eloquent job presenting her father.  It all seems like yesterday, and as Elway has proven in the Arena League and in reality TV, he is still the ultimate winner.  To this day Elway is the winningest QB in league history, now 8 years later.

Happy Birthday to John, and here's to another reason to celebrate his legacy.

REMEMBER TO CELEBRATE 7-7-07 AS JOHN ELWAY DAY THROUGHOUT BRONCO NATION!
