The Denver Broncos on Tuesday waived 10 players and placed wide receiver Rod Smith (left hip) on their reserve/physically unable to perform list, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced.
In addition, the club moved tackle Doug Nienhuis (knee) and cornerback Lamont Reid (pectoral) to its reserve/NFL-Europa injured list.
The transactions reduced Denver's roster to the NFL maximum 75-player limit. The Broncos' roster must be reduced to 53 players by Saturday at 4 p.m. MDT.
Beginning Sunday, Denver can establish a practice squad of up to eight players.
The following 10 players were waived by the Broncos on Tuesday:
