HALFTIME STATS --
If anyone had any doubt as to how important Special Teams are they should look at the halftime stats above. Total Yards -- Denver 202, Buffalo 92 yet the Bills lead 7-6. I guess a positive would be that the Broncos have been able to move the ball, something they will have to continue to do in order to win the game.
THIRD QUARTER --
BRONCOS SIXTH DRIVE
--Another scary injury for the Bills and Everett has yet to move. A scary situation to say the least...
--Any flow this game had will be gone, but that is the least of our concerns now...Our thoughts go out to Kevin Everett...
--Unlike Denver, Buffalo has done a nice job, for the most part, tackling the Broncos on first contact...
--A drop by Walker brings up a third and long...
--Walker makes up for it, bringing in the third down pass for a big first down.
--Brandon Stokley again, and Cutler has no problem throwing the long pass....
--Henry's knee bends awkwardly and Selvin Young will see his first action
--The Broncos stall at the 35 again, and the Broncos have a decision to make....a 50 yard attempt, a wobbler, is no good.
BILLS SIXTH DRIVE
--Buffalo will have solid field position to try and add to the lead. The pressure is on the Broncos defense to hold again. This game is taking a similar tone to the previous two road openers....
--The Broncos starting to get shredded by the rookie Lynch. The Bills, you get the sense, are this close to blowing this game open...
--A big third down, one the defense needs to convert...
--Not when these guys tackle like that. Lynch, on 3rd and ten, goes the distance, and it's the Bills, not the Broncos, dominating the line of scrimmage....TOUCHDOWN BILLS -- BUFFALO 14 - DENVER 6
BRONCOS SEVENTH DRIVE
--This game is eerily similar to the game in Miami and the game in St. Louis. The offense looks ill-prepared and the defense, while playin solid for almost three quarters, wears down...Can the Broncos turn the tide??
--Hixon needs to learn to run harder into the pack on kick-off returns. You won't get to full speed in time if you are jogging into the first wave....
--Just nothing going on offense, and the Bills look fresher, more energized, and definitely look like they want it more...
--Nice screen to try and slow the Bills defense down.
--This running game, with all the flux along the o-line, is a shell of what it used to be....
--Another screen, once again with success, and the Broncos are trying to show some life offensively.
--That's a nice pass by Cutler to Marshall...The Broncos have been able to move the ball all day, until they reach the 20. Time to finish the job....
--Henry finally gets some space and the Broncos have a first and goal. Finish the job!
--Dangerous pass, nearly intercepted...Cutler trusts his arm...Just a bit too much at time...
--That's more like it!! Great hands and feet by Brandon Marshall!! TOUCHDOWN BRONCOS!!! The Broncos will go for two...and it's no good. BUFFALO 14 -- DENVER 12
BILLS SEVENTH DRIVE
--Now the Denver defense needs to get the offense back on the field. Let's see what Jim bates can come up with...
END OF THE THIRD QUARTER -- BUFFALO 14 - DENVER 12
