With the signing of RB Knowshon Moreno, the Broncos had 81 players on their Training Camp roster, one more than allowed. A roster move was necessary, and today the Broncos made that move, placing DL J'Vonne Parker to IR. Parker appeared to injure his knee during the Scrimmage on Thursday night.
The move does leave the Broncos a bit thin on the D-line, but one interesting prospect just became available. The Cleveland Browns cut veteran DL Shaun Smith this morning. Smith, 6-2, 325, has experience playing the 3-4 defense at both DT and DE and could provide nice depth for the Broncos. Smith played two seasons in Cincinnati before moving on to the Browns.
That makes two defensive players done for the year with Parker joining Nick Greisen who was injured earlier in camp.
