The Denver Broncos have placed wide receiver Matthew Willis on injured reserve and promoted linebacker Diyral Briggs from the practice squad, per Aaron Wilson on Twitter.
Willis had one reception for 17 yards this season and was a contributor on special teams. He suffered a broken foot in the game against New York on Sunday. Willis was also one of the Broncos' leading receivers in the pre-season, and played well enough to earn a roster spot. He displayed big play ability and great speed.
Willis is replaced by linebacker Diyral Briggs, who will add depth to the Broncos' special teams units as well as at outside linebacker, where they have been unusually thin this season. Briggs is the second outside linebacker to be promoted by the Broncos.
The moves mean the Broncos have three practice squad spots open right now, so expect more roster moves as the day progresses.
